# Introduction

> Find a person's work email and check whether the mailbox is real. Two operations, one prepaid wallet, one small API.

InboxFound answers two questions that most tools collapse into one green tick:

1. **Does this mailbox accept mail?** Asked of the receiving mail host, read conservatively.
2. **Does it belong to the person you asked about?** Judged from evidence, never assumed.

Every result reports those separately, states the mail provider, and flags role, free and disposable addresses. You are charged only for definite answers.

> Create a key, submit a verification, read the result. Five minutes.

> Submit, poll, read. Every endpoint has a live playground in the API reference tab.

## Two operations

| Operation | Input | You get |
| - | - | - |
| **Verify** | one email address | `valid`, `invalid`, `catch_all`, `risky`, `unknown` or `blocked`, with a reason, the mail provider and address flags |
| **Find** | full name + company domain | the best address, its confidence tier, whether it is attributed to the person, and the mailbox status of that address |

## How work runs

Every submission is asynchronous. You get a job back at once and poll it until `execution_state` is `complete` or `incomplete`. Mail hosts do not answer instantly, so we do not pretend to; verifications usually settle in seconds, finds in under a minute.

The dashboard at [inboxfound.com/app](https://inboxfound.com/app) runs the same jobs and shows the same fields, so you can try a lookup by hand before writing code.
